How to Install Xposed Framework on OnePlus X for OxygenOS 2.2.2

Xposed Framework can add a variety of different tweaks to your smartphone and most of them are pretty addictive too. Installing Xposed involves great risk because your smartphone might go into infinite loop known as boot loop.

If you want to setup Xposed on OnePlus X. You will have to install Xposed Application and Xposed Framework. Both download links are mentioned at the end of the article. The Xposed Framework will be zip file whereas application would be having .apk extension.

Things you will need

  • Custom Recovery Installed on your OnePlus X. TWRP Recommended
  • Xposed Framework zip files and apk file of the application.

Steps to Install Xposed Framework on OnePlus X

  1. Enable USB Debugging on your smartphone. Just in case.
  2. Now download the desired Xposed Framework zip file from the link below. Make sure you download the latest zip file. SDK22 for Lollipop and SDK23 for Marshmallow. Since OxygenOS 2.2.2 is based on Lollipop then, you must download SDK22. If you are using different ROM based on Marshmallow then, download SDK23.
  3. Download Xposed Application for Android and Install it.
  4. Boot your smartphone into recovery mode. To manually boot your device into recovery mode. Switch the device off. Then, hold Volume Down key + Power Key simultaneously until your OnePlus X vibrates.
  5. Perform a Nandroid Backup. Just simply take backup from TWRP. It will create a backup of your current setup.
  6. Back at the main menu. Select Install. Then, browse Xposed Framework zip file you transferred to your OnePlus X. Swipe to install the zip file (if you are using TWRP recovery).
  7. Once installation of the zip file is finished. Wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache.
  8. Reboot to system

This reboot will take a while and all the apps on your smartphone will be optimized so be patient.

Pro Tip – Install Xposed or SuperSU when you have less number of applications
